33rd Meeting of Atlantic Division of the CAG (2024)

Welcome (bienvenue) to the virtual 33rd meeting of the Atlantic Division of the CAG, Thursday, 21st Nov to Friday, 22nd Nov

This year's meeting is in fully virtual format which confers some nice advantages:

  • Zero travel costs, which is a big plus for students.
  • Reduced CO2 emissions.
  • Convenience, i.e., beam in and out as you need to.

Presentations will be Zoom-based. The meeting is free (yes, free!) to attend, but whether you are a student or researcher, a professional, or a community member, we ask that you click on the "Register" link in the right-hand side to complete and email us the conference registration form.

You'll notice that the registration form includes a section for you to provide a brief bio, as well as a photograph of yourself. We intend to compile a 'networking packet' for this virtual meeting, which will be shared with conference registrants, and we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to talk a bit about your background and interest in the discipline of geography.

Your local host for this meeting is Dr. David Lieske of the Department of Geography and Environment, Mount Allison University. In an effort to combat webbots, please retrieve my email from the MTA directory, here. If you have any questions about the meeting, don't hesitate to contact me.

Please consider joining or renewing your membership in the Canadian Association of Geographers before attending the ACAG meeting. Membership in the CAG entitles you to access its flagship journal,Canadian Geographies, enjoy discounts when registering for the annual CAG meetings, and other benefits. Students: you will be able to register at a discounted rate!

Our special keynote speaker for this meeting will be Professor Larry Swatuk (University of Waterloo, see below). Details to follow.
